This is the home of the San Miguel de Allende Hash House Harriers (SMAHHH)
Founded September 16, 2006 by Robert "Pro Bono" Baines and Terry "Rat's Ass" Weathers.
The SMAHHH meets every Monday at 3:00pm at the Longhorn Smokehouse Restaurant located at 8 Calle Nueve between Ancha de San Antonio and Parque Juarez. Email Terry_Weathers@hotmail.com with any questions.
San Miguel de Allende is a town located in the state of Guanajuato (GTO) in the geographical center of Mexico. It is a beautiful historic colonial Hillside-town with a total population of about 90,000 which includes several thousand foreign retirees and entrepreneurs. http://www.portalsanmiguel.com/
The Hash House Harriers (HHH) (http://gotothehash.net) is a loosely knit worldwide social group of about 1500 chapters that combines a little exercise with a party. Members are usually called Hashers. It is open to everyone but it must be remembered that it is typically for adults of drinking age. The format is for one or two Hashers to volunteer to be the 'Hare(s)'. It is the Hares job to design and mark a clever trail using flour and chalk and then for the rest of the Hashers acting as 'Hounds' to find and follow the trail as a pack by either running and/or walking. The trail is the sole creation of the Hare(s) and can be of any length and location, but is usually designed for the capability of the local Hounds. The goal is to find the end where the beer (or other beverage of choice) is waiting. When the final Hound finishes the trail everyone is rounded up in a circle where some deserving Hashers are brought to the center of the circle and awarded an additional drink for some accomplishment or infraction (real or otherwise), and to sing fine bawdy songs. The HHH slogan is 'Beer Drinkers with a Running Problem' and the HHH believes that irreverence is its own reward.
Overtime each HHH chapter takes on its individual persona and the SMAHHH is no different. We are primarily a walking Hash and most trails take one to two hours to cover. Some trails are all urban, others are all rural while most are a mix of the two. Come join us and throw off the wraps of convention!
